Step 2: After that, go to the settings and then tap on WiFi. Click on the network list.

Step 3: Now, you will find the TP-link repeater default name as “Tplink_extender2.1G/5G”. Connect with it and enter the password in the respective field.

Step 4: Click and connect to this network. It will show as an open network. Once you are connected with this network, it will show you “no internet”. 

Step 5: Next, download the Tether app for iOS and Android devices.

Step 6: Launch the Tether app and choose the RE305 on your screen. You need to create a password to manage your account.

Step 8: Choose the main WiFi network that you want to extend and enter the password in the respective field. 

Step 9: In the next step, customize the extender network name in the setup. Click on the finish button.

Step 11: At last, unplug the extender and place it halfway between your router and the place where you require the internet connection. 

 

Guidelines for TP-Link RE305 Setup through WPS 

Walkthrough the below steps for the TP-Link RE305 Setup using the WPS button:

Step 1: The first step is to plug in the extender in the same room in which you have placed the router. It should be placed within 5-10 feet of the range from the router.

Step 2: After that, wait for some time until the power LED light on the extender turns solid blue.

Step 3: Press and hold the WPS button on the configured or working router for around 2 seconds. 

Step 4: Repeat the same process as that of your repeater. You will easily find the WPS button on top of your repeater.

Step 5: Now, you will see that the WPS LED light on the extender and router start blinking.

Step 6: The whole process will take 10-15 seconds for the repeater to get connected with the router.
